Pronger Upgraded, Set to Meet Flyers in Atlanta

Watch out Eastern Conference, the first-place Flyers are getting some reinforcement.

According to general manager Paul Holmgren, imposing defenseman Chris Pronger has been cleared by doctors to practice with the team.  But rather than try to fly the 36-year-old veteran to snowy Boston on Thursday, he will meet the team in Atlanta on Friday.

Pronger suffered a broken foot in mid-December and underwent surgery that was expected to keep him out of the line for 4-6 weeks. However, a quick recovery now sees the Flyers’ rear guard ready to see some action within the next week.

Pronger has four goals and 11 assists in 31 games this season.
