It feels like just yesterday that Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane was tossing his gloves in the air and streaking down the Wachovia Center ice, after scoring the Stanley Cup-clinching goal in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
But as the Flyers take on the New Jersey Devils tonight at 7 P.M at the freshly named Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia begins anew.
Flyers goaltender Michael Leighton is set to start the game, with newly acquired rookie Sergei Bobrovsky likely coming in relief.
Jeff Carter, Nik Zherdev, Darroll Powe, James van Riemsdyk, Ben Holmstom and Andreas Nodl, have all been confirmed for tonight’s contest. However, the rest of the lineup has yet to be released.
For the Devils, goaltender Martin Brodeur has not made the trip and neither has snipers Zach Parise or Ilya Kovalchuk.
The Devils’ lineup is thanks to Broadstreethockey and New Jersey writer Tom Gulitti.
