Boruk: Carter possible for ECF game 2 (unconfirmed)

According to CSNPhilly.com’s John Boruk, Flyers’ center Jeff Carter is “hoping” to resume skating on Monday.  If so, he is expected to be questionable for game 2 on Tuesday and a game-time decision for game 3 on Thursday.  The report is unconfirmed by the team and is being denied.

Carter, 25, was knocked out of the lineup with a broken foot in game 4 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals versus the New Jersey Devils.  Carter led the Flyers in regular season goals with 33.

The news of Carter’s return, whether sooner or later, brings up roster questions for the Flyers, who have been absolutely on fire with Danny Briere centering Ville Leino and Scott Hartnell.  Mike Richards isn’t going to leave center and Claude Giroux has excelled pivoting James Van Riemsdyk and Arron Asham.

However, it is likely that hard-working fourth liner Andreas Nodl will be removed and Giroux put back on wing.
