Flyers announce training camp roster, including Mark Bell?

With less than two weeks until the Flyers open their 2009-10 training camp, the team has announced the official roster with one curious addition.

Along with many of the regulars assumed to show up, the Flyers have added 29-year old, 6’2, 220 lbs.,  forward Mark Bell to a pro try-out.  Not unlike what the Flyers did with Jim Dowd and Bryan Berard last season, Bell is different, simply because he actually stands a chance to make the team.

Another big, tough (potential) 20-30 goal scorer in the Flyers’ midst?  It’s very possible.  Bell was a solid player before alcohol problems sidelined his career.  He spent most of the 2008-09 season struggling between Toronto and the Rangers.

Among some interesting prospect invites are 2009 draft selections, David Lebrecque, Eric Wellwood and goalie Adam Morrison.
