In an official announcement on Wednesday, the Flyers have signed a one-year affiliation deal with the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL.
This relationship isn’t brand new for either organization, as both the Flyers and K-Wings were affiliated for three years in the mid-80’s.
“We are pleased to have the Kalamazoo Wings as our ECHL affiliate and look forward to a strong working relationship with them,” GM Paul Holmgren told Philadelphiaflyers.com.
At the conclusion of the 2008-09 season, the former Flyers’ ECHL affiliate, the Mississippi Sea Wolves, went out of business, closing its doors for good.
