Watching Phantoms’ forward and Flyers’ prospect James van Riemsdyk play on Sunday, it was clear his comfort level was rising and that it wouldn’t be long until he made a mark on the scoreboard. And it wasn’t. Van Riemsdyk scored his first goal and assist and was a plus-2, in the Phantoms’ 4-3 shootout loss to the Albany River Rats Wednesday.
Van Riemsdyk and the Phantoms return home Friday, in what will be the final AHL game at the Wachovia Spectrum against the Hershey Bears. There are less than 500 tickets still available for the contest.
