The Flyers may get a dose of how important Kimmo Timonen really is to their blue line Tuesday night, when they face the Washington Capitals without him. According to coach John Stevens, Kimmo has come down with the flu bug (what else) and will not make the trip to D.C.
Randy Jones is likely to be paired up with Ryan Parent and Ossi Vaananen will be activated.
From last years first round playoffs into the 2008-09 season, Timonen has been able to single-handedly shut down sniper Alexandr Ovechkin. Without Kimmo in the lineup, it could be a long night for orange and black if the defense fails to pick up the pieces.
