The flu bug that ate the Flyers whole just couple weeks ago, resurfaced, this time taking down Jeff Carter. Carter did not miss any game time with the illness, but departed from the Flyers’ wives fight for lives carnival early on Sunday, despite the line of autograph seekers waiting for the Flyers’ leading scorer. Reportedly in the recovery phases of the bug (for the second time), Carter practiced briefly on Monday morning, but left early after only a few shifts. Danny Briere took his spot next to Joffrey Lupul and Scottie Hartnell in practice, but won’t return until at least Friday.
According to coach John Stevens, Carter, who only has two points in his last five games, should be ready to play tonight (Tuesday) against the Washington Capitals.
